The other day, some of the residents enjoyed story telling while making no bake cookies. This is a fun activity residents can participate in at the Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center. Swapping stories while baking is a good way to get out of the room and keep their hands busy.
Baking has been linked to helping everyday stresses. “Baking for others can increase a feeling of well-being, contribute to stress relief and make you feel like you’ve done something good for the world, which perhaps increases your meaning in life and connection with other people,” says associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Boston University, Donna Pincus.
